A Discernment Process
- What is the Gospel message to our church as we relate to gay and lesbian Christians?: The discernment process is for those who want to learn more about this issue now, to clarify our own individual understandings of the Gospel message related to gay and lesbian Christians. The goal is for each participant to individually learn what the Holy Spirit wants to teach us. Groups are offered on demand. When a minimum of five persons is interested (maximum of ten), a group will be formed. The text is “Listening to the Spirit: A Handbook for Discernment.” Karen Barr is the facilitator. For more information contact Karen Barr.
SCC's Music Program and Opportunities
- Adult Choir
- The Adult Choir provides music at the Sunday morning worship service and at special services throughout the year. Additionally, solos, duets, trios and quartets may also sing during worship services. All members of the church who are interested in singing and making a “joyful noise unto the Lord” are welcome and are invited to join the choir for rehearsals on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:40 a.m. as we fellowship together, singing and preparing special music. Reading music and/or prior participation in a vocal ensemble is not a prerequisite for becoming a part of this spirited, hard-working group. The Choir Director is Carol Wiley. If you would like more information on
any of the following programs, please call the church office at 703-354-4994.
