Adult Learning Opportunities
Adult education and development are very important. You are encouraged to participate in a class, special study or the ongoing Bible Reading programs. Please call the office if you would like to get more information or if you are interested in forming a new opportunity.
- The Seekers Class
- Church Parlor: This class uses "the present word" Bible Study Series. This class focuses on the Biblical text and encourages action based on learning.
- A Discernment Process: What is the Gospel message to our church as we relate to gay and lebian Christian?
- The discernment process is for those who want to learn more about this issue now, to clarify our own individual understandings of the Gospel message. The goal is for each participant to individually learn what the Holy Spirit wants to teach us. Groups are offered on demand whan a group of 5–10 is formed. The text is "Listening to the Spirti: A Handbook for Discernment." Karen Barr is the facilitator. Please contact her for more information.
SCC's Music Program and Opportunities
- Adult Choir
- The Adult Choir provides music at the Sunday morning worship service and at special services throughout the year. Opportunities for solos and small groups are also offered. All who love to sing are invited to come and make a "joyful noise unto the Lord" and join in rehearsals on Wednesdays at 7:30PM and Sundays at 9:40AM. Reading music and/or prior experience is not necessary, just a willingness to work hard with a spirited group. Carol Wiley is the Director, please contact her if you have questions.
- Hand Bell Choir
- SCC is blessed to own four octaves of English Hand bells. Our intergenerational “choir” includes experienced and inexperienced ringers and rehearses Sundays at 8:00AM. If you have an interest, let Carol Wiley know and see you Sunday!
