Service Synopsis

Style: SCC is a traditional service that embraces the holy in a variety of ways — individual meditation & prayer, fellowship in community, music.

Dress: SCC attendees range from “church dress” to informal and casual. Business casual is currently the attire of choice.

Children Sermon: Most Sundays include a ~ 5 minute Children’s sermon in which the children (age ~ 2-12) are invited to the front of the church for a message designed for them.

Communion: This act of fellowship in remembrance of Jesus’ last meal with his followers is an egalitarian feast in which all are invited by Jesus to share in community and the renewal of our spirits. We celebrate communion during each Suday worship service.

Singing: The worship service typically includes 3-4 congregation hymns ranging in general from traditional, to spiritual, to contemporary.

Invitation: The final hymn is an opportunity to join the fellowship community by coming forward during it’s singing to be greeted by the minister.
